Procurement Specialist at ABB

Each day, you will ensure assigned purchasing activities align with corporate purchasing policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• In this role, you will have the opportunity to purchase materials according to required technical specifications, price, delivery schedule, and terms.
• You will be the interface between Procurement and Engineering teams to use your skills by identifying new suppliers to optimize engineering cost, quality, and technology.
• The work model for the role is: #Li-Onsite.
• The role will support for the Electrification Smart Power Business, for Power Enclosures and will be based at PEENYA Bangalore, India.
• You will be mainly accountable for.
• Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives, ensuring suppliers meet current and future requirements for capacity, quality, delivery, and sustainability.
• Oversee purchasing, logistics, and local sourcing initiatives to optimize costs, improve supply chain efficiency, and help meet business targets.
• Evaluate suppliers, analyze bids, negotiate commercial agreements, and periodically review pricing, terms, and conditions to ensure competitive value and compliance with company policies.
• Optimize product and project costs, including investment and testing expenses, while meeting defined quality standards and cost targets.
• Manage end-to-end procurement activities, including purchase orders, supplier delivery tracking, performance monitoring, budget planning, spending analysis, and savings forecasts, in accordance with established procurement processes.

Required qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline, with solid experience in procurement and sourcing. 8–10 years of relevant experience in procurement, sourcing, and supplier management.
• Knowledge of Low Voltage (LV) switchboards.
• Proficiency in SAP modules relevant to procurement and purchasing.
• Solid skills in procurement planning, cost budgeting, expenditure tracking, and savings forecasting.
• Experience in creating and managing Purchase Orders (POs) based on purchase requisitions and established procurement procedures.
• Ability to coordinate with suppliers, confirm deliveries, monitor supplier performance against PO requirements, and communicate effectively in English and Hindi.
