L2 Application Support Engineer at Bounteous

We are looking for an L2 Application Support Engineer to support business-critical applications in a production environment.

The role involves incident management, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, monitoring, and application support with moderate Java coding exposure.

Candidates should have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work closely with development teams and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide L2 support for production applications and resolve incidents within SLA.
• Troubleshoot application, database, and system-related issues.
• Analyze logs, identify patterns, perform root cause analysis, and recommend fixes.
• Support application releases, deployments, and operational activities.
• Develop simple enhancements, automation scripts, and bug fixes where required.
• Collaborate with Application Development, Infrastructure, and Business teams.
• Create and maintain support documentation and knowledge articles.

Required skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Strong understanding of Data Structures and Computer Science fundamentals .
• Experience in problem-solving within development or production support environments.
• Working knowledge of Java (moderate coding proficiency).
• Strong SQL skills with experience in Oracle, DB2, Sybase, or similar RDBMS.
• Good knowledge of Linux/Unix commands and troubleshooting.
• Experience with scripting using Shell, Python, JavaScript, or Perl.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Preferred qualifications and skills

• Experience in Financial Services / Investment Banking domain.
• Exposure to ITIL Incident and Problem Management processes.
• Knowledge of Big Data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, HDFS , and cloud environments.
• Experience with monitoring and support tools.
