PRINCIPAL ARCHITECT - Java at Happiest Minds

Define and own end-to-end application architecture across frontend, backend, APIs, databases, cloud and AI components.

Role Summary We are looking for an experienced Java Full Stack Architect with strong expertise in Java backend, modern frontend technologies, cloud, microservices and AI/GenAI.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable Java/Spring Boot microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Lead frontend architecture using React/Angular, JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Design and implement AI/GenAI-enabled enterprise applications and features.
• Identify opportunities to leverage LLMs, RAG, AI agents and intelligent automation within business applications.
• Integrate enterprise applications with LLM/GenAI APIs and AI platforms.
• Drive security, performance, scalability, observability and reliability.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership, architecture reviews and code/design reviews.
• Mentor senior developers and architects and establish engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with product, business, engineering, DevOps and data teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Mandatory Skills Java / Backend Java 11/17/21+ Spring Boot / Spring Framework Spring Security Microservices Architecture REST APIs / API Design Hibernate / JPA Kafka or equivalent messaging technology Frontend React or Angular ? strong hands-on expertise JavaScript / TypeScript HTML5 / CSS3 Frontend architecture and design patterns Responsive UI development AI / GenAI ?
• Mandatory Strong understanding of Generative AI and LLMs Experience integrating OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Gemini, Claude or equivalent LLM APIs RAG architecture and vector databases Prompt engineering and LLM application development AI agents / Agentic AI concepts AI-powered automation and enterprise use cases Understanding of AI security, governance, responsible AI and data privacy Experience integrating AI capabilities into Java/full-stack applications Architecture & Cloud Enterprise Application Architecture System Design / Distributed Systems Design Patterns / SOLID AWS / Azure / GCP Docker / Kubernetes CI/CD and DevSecOps Git Database Strong SQL expertise Oracle / PostgreSQL / MySQL MongoDB or other NoSQL technologies Leadership Technical leadership of engineering teams Architecture and design governance Mentoring and technical coaching Strong communication and stakeholder management
