Identify and resolve migration issues associated with:Model configuration.

The role requires strong expertise in process modeling, optimization workflows, plant data integration, and deployment of industrial software solutions in enterprise and cloud-hosted environments.

Responsibilities

  • ROMeo 7.1 to APO Migration.
  • Lead the migration of existing ROMeo 7.1 models to a new AVEVA Process Optimization (APO) environment.
  • Assess model compatibility between ROMeo 7.1 and APO platforms.
  • Thermodynamic packages.
  • Optimization settings.
  • Data reconciliation functions.
  • Reporting and scheduling workflows.
  • Update model configurations and project structures to align with APO requirements.
  • Process Model Validation.
  • Validate migrated process models against existing production results.
  • Verify mass balance, energy balance, and optimization calculations.
  • Ensure optimization recommendations remain consistent with existing operating practices.
  • Perform detailed model benchmarking before and after migration.
  • Work closely with process engineers to confirm model accuracy and operational readiness.
  • Integration and Connectivity.
  • Re-establish and validate connections between APO and:Process historians.
  • Plant data sources.
  • SQL databases.
  • Excel-based workflows.
  • Reporting systems.
  • Third-party engineering applications.
  • Troubleshoot data mapping, communication, and connectivity issues.
  • Ensure automated workflows function correctly within the new APO environment.
  • Testing and Commissioning.
  • Develop migration test plans and validation procedures.
  • Execute:Functional testing.
  • Integration testing.
  • Performance testing.
  • User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Support commissioning and go-live activities.
  • Verify that optimization runs, reports, and scheduled tasks execute successfully in the new environment.

  • Work Experience .

Required qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with ROMeo 7.x and/or AVEVA Process Optimization (APO) platforms.
  • Proven experience performing ROMeo/APO model migration or deployment projects.
  • Strong understanding of:Rigorous process simulation.
  • Equation-based modeling.
  • Real-time optimization (RTO).
  • Data reconciliation.
  • Process performance monitoring.
  • Experience integrating APO/ROMeo with plant and enterprise data systems.
  • Knowledge of industrial process optimization workflows.
  • Strong troubleshooting and validation skills.
  • Excellent technical documentation capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently with process engineers, operations teams, and IT infrastructure teams.

Preferred qualifications and skills

  • Previous migration experience from ROMeo 7.x to AVEVA Process Optimization (APO).
  • Experience deploying optimization solutions in cloud-based or virtualized server environments.
  • Experience working in:Refining.
  • Petrochemical.
  • Chemical Manufacturing.
  • Oil & Gas Processing.
  • Familiarity with:AVEVA PI System / OSIsoft PI.
  • SQL Server.
  • OPC Connectivity.
  • Windows Server environments.
  • Experience with model performance tuning and optimization workflow improvements.

  • We are seeking an experienced AVEVA Process Optimization (APO) / ROMeo Migration Specialist to lead the migration of existing process optimization models from ROMeo 7.1 to a newly deployed AVEVA Process Optimization (APO) server environment.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for migrating, validating, testing, and commissioning existing equation-based optimization and process models while ensuring that all integrations, calculations, optimization workflows, and reporting functions operate correctly within the new APO platform.
  • ROMeo is AVEVA's rigorous online modeling and equation-based optimization solution, now branded as AVEVA Process Optimization.
