Assistant Manager - IT Operations & Infrastructure at Tata Communications

L3 troubleshooting for Cisco & Fortinet based networks, prepare RCA for major incidents, support service restoration.

Responsibilities

  • VLAN, routing (OSPF/BGP/EIGRP), firewall (Fortinet Policy & Rule Mgmt) and VPN (IPSec / SSL) administration.
  • Security: firewall rule reviews, segmentation, vulnerability remediation and PT remediation.
  • Upgrades & migrations: perform device firmware upgrades (IOS, NX-OS), network migration activities, and technology refresh projects.
  • Monitoring: review escalations from L1 monitoring tools (e.g. SolarWinds), perform network event analysis and capacity trend forecasting.
  • Documentation: maintain configuration documents, update HLD/LLD and operational runbooks/SOP.
  • Required Experience & Skills: 5–8 years of Cisco switching/routing and Fortinet firewall administration in enterprise networks.
  • Strong knowledge of network security, VPN technologies, QoS, firewall mgmt and MPLS architectures.
  • Proficiency with network monitoring and trending tools; experience with RCA & SLA compliance.

Required qualifications

  • CCNA (minimum), ideally CCNP (ENARSI, DC) Fortinet NSE (levels 4–7) ITIL Foundation Competencies: Technical ownership and accountability Strong communication and documentation skills Ability to mentor junior staff Analytical thinking and decision-making Reporting Relationships: Reports to Network Team Lead; coordinates with Security and Monitoring teams.
