Senior GenAI Fullstack Engineer (React & Python) at Luxoft

Project description We are looking for a Full Stack Engineer with hands-on GenAI experience to join a team building AI-powered applications for a major US insurance provider.

Responsibilities

  • You will deliver features end to end, from modern React/Next.js user interfaces to Python/FastAPI services and MCP servers that connect AI agents to enterprise systems, all running on Microsoft Azure.
  • Develop user experiences for GenAI features, such as AI assistants, chat interfaces, streaming responses and agent-driven workflows.
  • Build MCP servers using FastMCP to expose enterprise data and tools to AI agents.
  • Design, implement and integrate REST and GraphQL APIs between frontend, backend and AI services.
  • Collaborate with client stakeholders, architects, GenAI engineers and QA to deliver end-to-end features.

Required qualifications

  • Skills Must have Strong proficiency in React.js and Next.js, including Hooks, SSR / ISR and API Routes.

Preferred qualifications and skills

  • Nice to have Experience building GenAI applications in insurance or financial services.

  • Design and develop backend services and microservices in Python using FastAPI.
  • Integrate LLMs and AI models into applications, applying prompt engineering, tool/function calling and structured outputs.
  • Deploy and run applications on Microsoft Azure.
  • Write automated tests across the stack using Jest, Pytest and Cypress.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools as part of the daily engineering workflow.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards.
  • Solid backend experience in Python using frameworks such as FastAPI.
  • Hands-on experience building MCP servers with FastMCP.
  • Practical experience building or integrating AI agents and LLM-based features into applications.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure for deploying and running applications.
  • Experience with REST / GraphQL API design and integration.
  • Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Understanding of HTML, CSS, TypeScript and modern build tools (e.g., Vite, Webpack, Turbopack).
  • Working knowledge of Git.
  • Exposure to microservices architecture.
  • Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest, Pytest and Cypress.
  • Experience with Generative AI, including AI models, prompt engineering and AI-assisted development tools.
  • Upper-Intermediate (B2) or higher English, with the ability to communicate directly with US-based stakeholders.
  • Experience with OpenAI GPT, Anthropic Claude or Azure OpenAI APIs.
  • Familiarity with RAG, vector search and LLM orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph).
  • Experience with frontend AI tooling such as the Vercel AI SDK.
  • Experience with Docker, GitHub Actions and AKS.
  • Familiarity with AuthN/AuthZ (OAuth 2.0, Entra ID) and compliance requirements for PII in regulated industries.
