.NET Backend Engineer at Ascendion

We are looking for a Senior .NET Cloud Engineer with strong hands-on experience in C#, .NET Core, ASP.NET Core, AWS, Kubernetes, and microservices .

The role will be part of a strategic modernization initiative focused on cloud-native services, platform modernization, production support, and AI-enabled software delivery.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain .NET Core / ASP.NET Core applications, REST APIs, and microservices .
• Build and modernize applications for AWS cloud environments .
• Develop and operate containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes .
• Participate in application modernization initiatives, including migration and transformation of legacy applications.
• Design scalable and maintainable APIs and microservices following modern engineering practices.
• Work with SQL databases , including query optimization and database performance tuning.
• Troubleshoot complex application issues and production incidents and perform root-cause analysis.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and modern software development and deployment practices.
• Collaborate with engineering, cloud, DevOps, security, and product teams to deliver reliable cloud-native solutions.
• Apply secure coding, performance, scalability, and reliability best practices.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, design activities, and solution planning.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools , including GitHub Copilot Agent Mode, to improve developer productivity while ensuring code quality, security, and correctness.
• Prepare technical documentation and support production readiness activities.
• Required Skills 7+ years of software engineering experience .
• Strong hands-on experience with C#, .NET Core, and ASP.NET Core .
• Strong experience designing and developing REST APIs and microservices .
• Hands-on experience with AWS Cloud .
• Strong experience with Kubernetes and Docker/containerization .
• Strong knowledge of SQL and database performance tuning .
• Experience with CI/CD and modern SDLC practices .
• Strong production troubleshooting and incident-resolution experience.
• Experience with legacy application modernization .
• Strong understanding of software development best practices, design principles, and application architecture.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience with AWS services and cloud-native architecture.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation.
• Experience with observability, monitoring, and production performance optimization.
• Experience working on large-scale modernization or cloud migration programs.

Preferred qualifications and skills

• Good to Have Experience with GitHub Copilot Agent Mode or other AI-assisted development tools.
