Sofware Architect- EF at BMW TechWorks India

We are looking for an experienced Software Architect to define and drive the overall architecture of a highly integrated development toolchain.

The role requires strong expertise in software/system integration, cloud architecture, APIs, data, DevOps, and emerging AI technologies.

The architect will independently coordinate interfaces, data models, technology evolution, and cross-functional dependencies to ensure a scalable, secure, and future-proof platform.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the overall software and system architecture of the development toolchain.
• Drive system integration, APIs, interfaces, data models, and technology roadmap .
• Design scalable AWS cloud and container architectures .
• Drive MBS-Simpack / HPC integrations and complex system interfaces.
• Define data architecture, data flows, and data modeling standards.
• Ensure best practices across DevOps, CI/CD, security, testing, and observability .
• Introduce and design AI-assisted and agent-based engineering processes .
• Implement and integrate agentic solutions on BMW AI Platforms .
• Drive effective usage and governance of GitHub Copilot and Generative AI for development and testing.
• Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance across cross-functional teams.
• Required Skills & Experience Strong experience in Software Architecture and System Integration .
• Hands-on expertise in AWS, cloud-native and container architectures .
• Strong knowledge of APIs, interfaces, distributed systems, and integration patterns .
• Experience with data architecture and data modeling .
• Strong understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, security, and software testing .
• Practical experience with GitHub Copilot / Generative AI .
• Knowledge of AI agents, agentic systems, orchestration, and AI platforms .
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.

Preferred qualifications and skills

• Experience with MBS-Simpack / HPC integration is highly desirable.
• Experience in automotive or engineering environments is an advantage.
