Principal Manager, Tech (HCDev) at D. E. Shaw India

We are looking for an engineering manager to join our Human Capital Development (HC Dev) team based in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, or Gurugram.

Responsibilities

  • You will work closely with other engineering managers and senior engineers across HC Dev, shape the roadmap in partnership with the business, drive architecture and engineering quality, and develop the engineers on your team.
  • You will set the technical direction for the systems your team owns, working with senior engineers and leads to drive architecture, key design decisions, and engineering quality.
  • You will shape the roadmap for your area with business leadership and product managers, and own planning, estimation, capacity planning, and scope management while navigating delivery risks, trade-offs, and escalations independently.
  • You will mentor engineers on both technology and domain aspects to support their growth and development.

  • You will manage a team of engineers, including senior engineers and leads, with responsibility for performance, career growth, and team effectiveness.
  • You will remain close to design and development, guiding the team on engineering best practices and providing technical leadership on complex, high-impact problems.
