Responsibilities

• Execute the design, analysis, evaluation of High Pressure Compressor airfoils for GE9X program using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.
• Lead technical projects with moderate to high complexity through collaboration.
• Provide engineering support, within one’s specialty, to teams working on performance, durability, cost reduction and quality initiatives.
• Execute design and analysis activities for structural and rotating parts of cold and hot sections modules of engines for issue resolution, performance improvements, cost/weight reduction, Durability and producibility improvements.
• Drive and deliver on cost, performance & weight targets.
• Provide technical guidance & mentor engineers in team.
• Lead initiatives of moderate to complex scope and impact.

Additional role details

• Execute design and analysis activities for airfoils of High Pressure compressor module for GE9X program working on, but not limited to, non-conformances of parts in shop, collaborate with PSE for developing field plan, performance improvements, durability and producibility improvements.
• Foster and inspire a collaborative work style and display team-oriented behavior with proactive communication internally and externally .
• Leverage digital tools & analyze the data insights to drive appropriate actions.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers.
• Leverage expertise to resolve problems in the field or during the manufacturing processes.
• Make recommendations after analysis of the data using quality tools.
• Bachelors /Masters/PhD in Mechanical Engineering specialization with strong academic track record. 12+ years of relevant experience on Mechanical design/hardware ownership/ Finite element analysis of rotating parts preferably in aircraft engine/gas turbine domain.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization both internally and externally.
• Should collaborate with PSE for developing field plan.
• Should network & establish strong connections with Commodity CTHs, Cross functional teams viz.
• Supply Chain, Repair, MAE, CTPs and Shop technical teams to develop strategies for achieving the desired outcomes.
• PhD/MTech /MS/BTech/BE in Mechanical/Aerospace.
• In-depth understanding of mechanical design fundamentals.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across teams.
• Ability to navigate through uncertainties and define the path for the teams.
• Activities contributing to the design and development of products, solutions and systems.
• Includes activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components.
