Senior Technical Architect at HCLTech

Role Summary Own sustenance of the IM SDK and higher-level application framework/API layers exposed to customer application developers on IoT platforms.

Pod 5 — IMSDK/Frameworks — Lead Pod / Track Pod 5 — IMSDK/Frameworks Role Title Lead — IM SDK & Multimedia Frameworks (GStreamer) Experience 8 – 10 years Primary Location Hyderabad, India (Transition phase); HCLTech Offshore Delivery Center thereafter Work Model Physical co-location at Hyderabad mandatory during Transition (Month 1–3) for knowledge transfer and hardware/lab access; delivery shifts to HCLTech's Offshore Delivery Center (ODC) from Shadow (Month 4–6) onward.

This is a single-position pod — the Lead has no dedicated bench.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and extend the GStreamer-based multimedia framework layer that sits above the multimedia HAL, ensuring compatibility with customer application requirements.
  • Triage framework-layer defects in GStreamer plugins/pipelines reported by customer application developers.
  • Support customer developer escalations directly.
  • Document framework/API changes and deprecations ahead of each release.
  • Coordinate framework updates with the underlying HAL/system-software pods (SSG, Multimedia).
  • Must-Have Skills
  • 8–10 years multimedia framework / GStreamer engineering, sitting above a multimedia HAL.
  • GStreamer pipeline architecture, plugin development and debugging.
  • Experience building an SDK/framework layer directly above a multimedia HAL.
  • API design and versioning discipline for a customer-facing SDK.
  • Strong customer-facing communication.
  • Good-to-Have Skills
  • Prior IM SDK or comparable vendor SDK experience.
  • Experience with comparable frameworks (e.g., Android Media Framework, FFmpeg) as points of comparison to GStreamer.
  • Developer-relations or SDK documentation authorship.
  • Exposure to partner/OEM app-developer support processes.
