Role overview

Camera Electronics Engineer at SatSure

Responsibilities

  • Work with the brightest minds, including ex-ISRO scientists and global space industry experts, at one of the select few companies in the country pioneering cutting edge EO payloads.
  • Work with firmware and FPGA teams to define detector control sequences and synchronization logic.
  • Support test and calibration campaigns to validate focal plane performance in the lab and during environmental qualification.

Required qualifications

  • Must Have Experience with CCD/CMOS sensor technologies and their use in industrial or space-based imaging systems.

Employment details

  • Location: Bangalore [India], Bangalore [KA] [India]

About the employer

  • Rooted in SatSure's legacy of building applications across sectors like Utilities, Agriculture, Aviation, BFSI, and Climate Action, we also provide end-to-end EO solutions, from payload development and launch to mission operations and data analytics.

Benefits

  • Benefits Medical Health Cover for you and your family including unlimited online doctor consultations.

Additional role details

  • Seeking a Camera Electronics Engineer with deep expertise in mixed-signal electronics and a solid system-level understanding of imaging sensors in spacecraft and radiometric applications, to lead the design of focal plane subsystems for high-resolution Earth observation payloads.
  • KaleidEO, a subsidiary of SatSure, is an upstream leader in Earth Observation, building a full-stack company from India.
  • As an 'analytics-first' payload innovator, we specialize in building next-gen, high-resolution, multispectral payloads with edge computing and wide coverage capabilities.
  • At KaleidEO, we are shaping the future of Earth Observation and putting Indian space tech on the global map.
  • If you thrive on challenges and are passionate about pushing the boundaries of image processing, this is your calling!
  • Roles and Responsibilities Define technical specifications for focal plane arrays (FPAs), including CMOS/CCD/TDI detectors for electro-optical payloads, based on mission requirements.
  • Own the architecture and performance of the detector subsystem: including readout electronics, signal conditioning, and interfacing with the main electronics system.
  • Own the radiometry of the payload system for all the operating modes.
  • Collaborate with optical, system, and electronics engineers to ensure the payload meets MTF and SNR performance targets.
  • Translate radiometric and image quality requirements (e.g., dynamic range, noise, saturation albedo) into hardware and configuration parameters.
  • Define and evaluate detector readout modes: TDI/dTDI, ROI, binning, global vs. rolling shutter operation, etc.
  • Analyze the impact of spacecraft AOCS (Attitude and Orbit Control System) performance - such as jitter and smear - on payload image quality.
  • Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Applied Physics. 2-3 years of experience with imaging sensors and focal plane electronics (space or high-performance industrial cameras).
  • Strong background in analog/digital mixed-signal circuit design, preferably including sensor front-ends, power regulation, and timing logic.
  • Strong understanding of EO/IR performance metrics (e.g., MTF, SNR, NIIRS, radiometric calibration) and their sensitivity to detector characteristics.
  • Experience in collaborating with optics, system engineering, and firmware teams.
  • Basic skills of FPGA design and ability to understand VHDL or Verilog.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to solve complex technical challenges.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills to interface with internal teams, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Good to have Familiarity with AOCS-payload interaction with detectors (e.g., jitter effects, line-of-sight stability) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of satellite-level systems engineering, payload interfaces, and mission CONOPS.
  • Experience designing or analyzing space-qualified imaging payloads, including electronics and opto-mechanics.
  • Involvement in in-orbit calibration and anomaly resolution for operational satellite payloads.
  • We believe family comes first.
  • That's why we offer Maternity, Paternity, Marriage and Bereavement Leave, so you can be there when it matters most.
  • We ensure every member of the team gets an opportunity to participate at international events and conferences.
  • Access to mental health experts for you and your family.
  • Dedicated allowances for learning and skill development.
  • Interview Process: Introductory call Panel Interview rounds ( 2 rounds) Culture Round / HR round
