Unix / Linux / RHEL Advanced Unix/Linux and Red Hat Enterprise Linux expertise, including system administration, troubleshooting, performance, security, scripting and integration with OpenShift. Architecture & Design Design secure, scalable, resilient and highly available enterprise OpenShift solutions. Strategy Development Develop and evolve OpenShift strategies, roadmaps, architecture standards and adoption plans aligned with business, application and infrastructure objectives. HRD / HDD Documentation Lead the creation and evolution of HRD and HDD designs, translating business and technical requirements into implementable architecture. EARB & Architecture Governance Full understanding of the EARB process and architecture governance requirements, with demonstrated experience preparing, presenting and defending HRD/HDD designs to architecture review boards and driving designs through approval. Automation & Infrastructure as Code Define and implement automation strategies for OpenShift provisioning, configuration, deployments, upgrades, patching, scaling and recurring operational activities. Strong knowledge of Ansible, Git, YAML and Infrastructure-as-Code, with a focus on reducing manual intervention and creating repeatable, standardized deployments. CI/CD & GitOps Design and support automated application and platform deployment processes using CI/CD, GitOps, Argo CD and related OpenShift capabilities. Implementation & Deployment Work directly alongside implementation teams to build, configure, automate, deploy and validate OpenShift solutions. Provide hands-on technical support during deployments, migrations, upgrades and troubleshooting rather than operating solely in an advisory capacity. Compute Analysis & Capacity Planning Perform compute analysis, workload sizing, capacity forecasting and resource optimization to determine CPU, memory and infrastructure requirements for OpenShift environments and future growth. Security & Zero Trust Strong knowledge of Zero Trust architecture, RBAC, IAM, least privilege, micro-segmentation, certificates, secrets, network policies and platform hardening. Application Enablement Coach and assist application teams in learning OpenShift, containerization, automated deployment patterns and cloud-native best practices. Migration & Modernization Guide and actively support application teams through migrations from traditional and VMware environments to OpenShift and cloud-native architectures. Cloud VI Strong knowledge of Cloud Virtual Infrastructure (Cloud VI) and its integration with OpenShift, including compute, virtualization, networking, storage and supporting infrastructure services. Portworx Knowledge of Portworx architecture and container-native storage, including persistent storage, availability, data protection, disaster recovery and integration with Kubernetes/OpenShift. Pure Storage Experience with Pure Storage technologies and their integration with OpenShift/Kubernetes, including persistent storage, performance, resiliency and data protection. U360 & Zabbix Monitoring Knowledge of U360 and Zabbix monitoring to support platform and infrastructure monitoring, alerting, availability, performance, capacity management and operational visibility. Networking & Infrastructure Strong understanding of networking, DNS, load balancing, firewalls, storage and enterprise infrastructure integration. Hybrid Cloud Experience designing and implementing OpenShift across on-premise, VMware, bare metal and public cloud environments. Resiliency & Operations Design and implement HA/DR, backup/recovery, observability, monitoring, capacity and multi-cluster strategies. Proposal Development Participate in the preparation of technical and business proposals, including solution options, architecture, technical requirements, sizing, effort estimates, risks and cost considerations. Vendor Communication & Collaboration Engage directly with Red Hat and other technology vendors to validate solutions, evaluate capabilities, resolve technical issues and align technology roadmaps. Technical Leadership Provide architectural and hands-on technical leadership, mentor technical teams, establish reusable standards and collaborate across application, infrastructure, security and operational teams. Core Profile A senior, hands-on OpenShift Architect who combines deep OpenShift, Kubernetes, Unix/Linux, Cloud VI, compute, storage, monitoring, automation, application, infrastructure and security expertise. The role owns the OpenShift lifecycle from strategy → requirements → HRD/HDD design → EARB approval → automation → build → deployment → validation → production readiness. A key responsibility is to drive automation and standardization across the OpenShift environment, reducing manual intervention through Infrastructure-as-Code, automated provisioning, configuration, deployments, upgrades, patching and operational processes. This is not an advisory-only architecture role. The architect works directly with implementation and application teams during builds, deployments, migrations, upgrades, automation and complex troubleshooting. The architect develops the OpenShift strategy and roadmap, performs compute and capacity analysis, enables application teams to build their OpenShift capabilities, contributes to proposals and solution costing, and works directly with Red Hat and strategic technology vendors. The objective is to combine architecture leadership, automation, governance expertise and hands-on delivery to ensure solutions are standardized, scalable, secure, technically sound and successfully transitioned into stable production services.
