<p>The MongoDB Documentation team is a group of writers and engineers who develop and maintain the documentation for the MongoDB product family.
The MongoDB Documentation team is a part of the MongoDB Core Product organization and is tightly integrated with the engineering teams responsible for each product. </p>
Your work, along with the other two MongoDB Docs teams, support AI agents, answer engines, and a large global community of new and experienced MongoDB users.</p>

Additional role details

Our goal is to help our readers, both humans and AI, successfully use MongoDB products by providing outstanding documentation.
<p>The Docs team is responsible for documenting all aspects of the MongoDB data platform including the database, query language, Atlas, Vector Search, VoyageAI models, Full-Text Search, Stream Processing, client libraries, administrative tools, connectors, and more.</p>
<p>Your AI-forward mindset coupled with strong writing and technical skills will create clear reference docs and tutorials on high-complexity features.
<p>We are looking to speak to candidates who are based in Gurgaon, Bengaluru or Mumbai for our hybrid working model.</p>
<h3>Candidate Profile:</h3>
<ul>
<li>Has experience writing technical documentation from scratch in English</li>
<li>Possesses strong critical reading and writing skills</li>
<li>Has hands-on experience using AI tools to accelerate documentation work</li>
<li>Leverages sound editorial judgment to evaluate AI-generated content against source material for technical accuracy</li>
<li>Has experience with cloud and database technologies</li>
<li>Is able to read code for technical examples in at least one programming language (e.g., C++, C#, Java, Python, JavaScript)</li>
<li>Has experience testing and validating documentable features and concepts</li>
</ul>
<h3>Position Expectations:</h3>
<li>Advocate for users in everything you write</li>
<li>Work with technical and non-technical teams to meet the documentation needs of our users</li>
<li>Research complex product features and validate with diligent testing</li>
<li>Produce technically accurate and well-written documentation</li>
<li>Contribute feedback to the team through copy review and planning discussions</li>
<h3>Success Measures:</h3>
<p>In 3 months:</p>
<li>You'll be comfortable with our toolchain, AI tooling, and writing workflow</li>
<li>You can implement small to medium complexity documentation requests</li>
<li>You're getting to know our server engineers and are getting comfortable with participating in intra and inter team discussions</li>
<li>You've completed the required technical training and courses required for MongoDB Engineering</li>
<p>In 6 months:</p>
<li>You are getting comfortable doing deep dives into database architecture and technology as part of feature documentation</li>
<li>You've adapted to our style of writing and your work demonstrates technical writing best practices</li>
<li>You begin reviewing the work of your peers and learning from it</li>
<li>You and your manager have discussed your career trajectory and growth opportunities</li>
<li>You've helped the team improve and establish effective, well-vetted AI-assisted workflows for drafting and review</li>
<p>In 12 months:</p>
<li>You're creating consistently high quality documentation for entire feature sets, complex tutorials, and high level concepts</li>
<li>You know how much work you can manage and are contributing at a healthy pace</li>
<li>You provide quality copy and technical reviews for your team members</li>
<li>You provide best practices and coaching on AI-assisted workflows for your team members</li>
