Job Responsibilities As a Senior Consultant, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of Power BI development, including setup, design, development, validation, and delivery of business reports. Your key responsibilities will include: Define workspace design and naming standards. Create workspaces and assign access through security groups. Set up deployment pipelines (Dev > Test > Prod). Install and configure on-premises data gateways, including cluster configuration for high availability. Configure data source connections, credentials, and gateway users. Run connectivity tests, review tenant settings, and produce admin documentation. Define branding and layout guidelines for dashboards. Create theme JSON and build Power BI templates (.pbit) with standard pages. Design star schema models, build shared DAX measures, and support the semantic layer. Configure Databricks SQL Warehouse connections and refresh strategy. Perform troubleshooting and performance tuning of reports. Develop reports confirming KPIs and business outcomes, and demo to the business. Role Overview Set up workspaces, access groups, gateways, and dev/test/prod deployment pipelines. Create the report theme, template, and standard visual patterns. Build the shared semantic model, DAX measures, and calculation groups, and certify the dataset. Configure Databricks SQL warehouse connectivity, storage modes, and incremental refresh. Develop 30 reports across Financial, Manufacturer and other domains. Strong proficiency in DAX, including time intelligence and performance optimization. Solid data modeling skills (star schema, dimensional modeling). Hands-on experience with Power BI Service administration: workspaces, deployment pipelines, RLS. Experience with Azure Databricks and strong SQL knowledge. Understanding of Import vs DirectQuery trade-offs and incremental refresh. Experience with Power BI performance tuning tools (DAX Studio, Performance Analyzer). Ability to translate business requirements into actionable metrics and dashboards. Nice-to-Have Experience building themes (JSON) and templates (.pbit). Strong documentation habits. Experience with data accuracy and reconciliation processes.
