Lead Software Engineer

Job Description Summary Level 6 Principal Engineers (IC) are highly specialised Individual Contributors with deep expertise in specific technology areas, operating with a deliberately narrower and deeper technical focus. They provide hands‑on technical leadership by guiding designs, solving complex engineering challenges within their domain, and mentoring engineers across teams. Their role is to uphold technical standards, validate emerging patterns, and ensure solutions are secure, scalable and resilient. While influential across multiple teams, their primary impact remains at the team and lab level, driving engineering excellence through deep domain knowledge. What you’ll need A proactive approach and ability to independently start projects, working successfully with multi-disciplinary, internal, and external distributed teams across the project lifecycle. Deep understanding of Node JS, React Typescript, and responsive web design. Preferably with reusable components as used by React. Deep understanding of Java, Quarkus or similar frameworks along with your knowledge of RESTful APIs and web services. Strong understanding of source code repositories and change management tools like Git. Knowledge of agile development practices and test automation, especially using tools such as Junit, Jest, Cucumber and Playwright. Strong knowledge of build processes and release automation, including using Dev Ops Pipelines, Nexus, Sonar Qube. Experience working with Private/Public Cloud (GCP, Azure, and Open Shift) really stands out. Strong grasp of the software development life-cycle, from inception through build to production.
