You will remain hands-on while setting engineering direction across multiple teams, influencing architecture, improving engineering standards, and resolving complex system-wide challenges.</span><span> </span></span></p><p> </p><ul><li><span style="color:#000000">Lead the technical design and delivery of scalable full-stack solutions using C#/.NET and Next.js/React.</span></li></ul><ul><li><span style="color:#000000">Shape architecture and engineering strategy across applications, APIs, integration patterns, and cloud platforms.</span></li></ul><ul><li><span style="color:#000000">Partner with engineering, product, platform, security, and business stakeholders to translate complex needs into pragmatic solutions.</span></li></ul><ul><li><span style="color:#000000">Raise engineering quality through reusable patterns, code reviews, test automation, observability, security, and operational excellence.</span></li></ul><ul><li><span style="color:#000000">Mentor senior engineers, facilitate technical decision-making, and build alignment across teams without relying on formal authority.</span></li></ul><ul><li><span style="color:#000000">Own complex production issues, drive root-cause analysis, and deliver systemic improvements that reduce recurrence and operational risk.</span><br /></li></ul><p><b>Essential Skills:</b></p><ul><li><span style="color:#000000">10&#43; years of software engineering experience, including significant experience leading complex systems and influencing engineering outcomes across teams.</span></li><li><span style="color:#000000">Extensive experience designing, deploying, and operating cloud-native workloads on AWS and/or Microsoft Azure.<span> </span></span></li><li><span style="color:#000000">Strong understanding of identity and access management, networking, secrets management, high availability, resilience, scalability, performance, and cost optimisation.<span> </span></span></li><li><span style="color:#000000">Experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Azure Bicep, or equivalent</span></li></ul><ul><li><span style="color:#000000">Expert-level experience with C#, .NET, and ASP.NET Core for building secure, scalable APIs and backend services</span></li></ul><ul><li><span style="color:#000000">Strong hands-on experience with modern web development using Next.js, React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.</span></li></ul><ul><li><span style="color:#000000">Deep understanding of RESTful API design, distributed systems, integration patterns, asynchronous processing, and data modelling.</span></li></ul><ul><li><span style="color:#000000">Proven ability to define engineering standards, evaluate trade-offs, simplify complex designs, and guide solutions from discovery through production.<span> </span></span></li></ul><ul><li><span style="color:#000000">Strong testing discipline across unit, integration, contract, end-to-end, and performance testing.</span></li></ul><ul><li><span style="color:#000000">Advanced debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills across full-stack and distributed environments.</span></li><li><span style="color:#000000">Extensive experience designing, deploying, and operating cloud-native workloads on AWS and/or Microsoft Azure.<span> </span></span></li></ul><ul><li><span style="color:#000000">AWS experience across services such as ECS/EKS, Lambda, Application Load Balancer, API Gateway, Aurora PostgreSQL/RDS, S3, IAM, and CloudWatch</span></li></ul><br /><p><b> Security &amp; DevSecOps</b></p><br /><ul><li><span style="color:#000000">Strong understanding of secure software development, threat-aware design, secrets handling, dependency governance, and least-privilege access.<span> </span></span></li></ul><ul><li><span style="color:#000000">Experience integrating security controls into CI/CD and remediating vulnerabilities using tools such as Snyk, Wiz, or equivalent.<span> </span></span></li></ul><br /><br /><p><b>Education/Qualifications</b></p><p> Bachelor’s degree in engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology</p><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><p></p><p><span>If you&#39;re already part of the Commonwealth Bank Group (including Bankwest, x15ventures), you&#39;ll need to apply </span>through <a href="https://sidekick.hr.cba" target="_blank">Sidekick</a> to submit a valid application.
