Collected role description
Bengaluru · Full Time · On-Site. We're looking for a business finance professional who can operate as a true partner to the business, not a pure reporting or… organization serving the digitally-savvy, ACKO’s value proposition of ‘Welcome Change’ focuses on offerings that make insurance simple and hassle-free! With features such as zero commission, zero paperwork, instant renewal, same-day claim settlements, and app-based updates on claims, ACKO is a 'Welcome Change' from traditional insurers. Having said that, we are not just another conventional insurance firm, or the people consulted solely for "claims”! Anchored in a tech-centric philosophy, ACKO’s approach fuels innovation, empowering us to develop comprehensive products that cater to every aspect of our customers' insurance requirements. And while we are at it, we put our Ackers at the heart of everything we do. We're not your typical 9-to-5 workplace; we're a vibrant and inclusive bunch of innovators and creators making sure every Acker’s idea matters, their voice is heard, and their growth is part of our mission. WHAT IS ACKO'S D2C BUSINESS? ACKO's D2C business spans two large, distinct customer journeys under one digital-first umbrella: Auto helping customers protect, maintain and service their vehicles and Health, Life & Travel protecting individuals and families through health, term life, travel and wellness products, including labs and diagnostics. Both businesses are run independently, each with its own growth agenda, but share a common ambition: building scaled, digital-led protection and ownership experiences for millions of Indian consumers. This role sits within ACKO's central Business Finance function, partnering directly with business to drive financial rigor, cost discipline, and strategic decision-making for one of these two D2C segments. Why This Role Matters Strategically Act as a genuine finance partner to a fast-scaling consumer business, not a reporting or MIS function Shape cost and growth decisions across some of ACKO's most strategically important D2C segments Build direct, senior-level influence with business, product, and operations stakeholders Own a business end-to-end from defining the right metrics to solving problems at the root cause ROLE SUMMARY We're looking for a business finance professional who can operate as a true partner to the business, not a pure reporting or MIS function. You'll be expected to independently identify and track the key strategic input metrics for your business, question and deep-dive with stakeholders, and drive cost or growth outcomes through influence rather than oversight. This role calls for strong judgment, a bias for problem-solving over reporting, and the ability to build trusted relationships with senior business and cross-functional stakeholders. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Business Partnering & Financial Ownership – Act as the primary Business Finance partner for your assigned vertical (Auto, or Health, Life, Travel & Labs), owning the relevant cost or P&L agenda end-to-end Strategic Metric Definition & Tracking – Independently identify and track the key strategic input metrics for the business on a regular cadence, using judgment rather than waiting to be told what to measure Root-Cause Problem Solving – Go beyond reporting numbers to identify what's really driving performance operational breakdowns, customer issues, cost leakages — and work with stakeholders to resolve them Stakeholder Management & Influence – Build strong, senior-level working relationships across Operations, Claims and Customer Support (Auto) or business and product leadership (Health, Life, Travel & Labs) — with the ability to influence decisions, not just service requests Cost & Investment Analysis – Build financial frameworks, business cases, and ROI/cost analyses to support key business decisions and growth initiatives Cross-Functional Coordination – Work closely with FP&A, Controllership, and other Finance functions to ensure consistent reporting, cost allocation, and reconciliation practices IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE 4–7 years of experience in Business Finance, Finance Business Partnering, with a strong preference for business-partnering exposure over pure reporting/MIS roles CA or MBA (Finance) preferred, though not a hard filter Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills this role is about shaping decisions, not just presenting numbers Ability to independently define, track, and question strategic input metrics; a self-starter who brings structure and judgment to ambiguity Input-oriented mindset comfortable digging into operational detail to solve problems rather than only reporting outcomes Open to candidates from D2C/e-commerce, general insurance, or fintech backgrounds Apply for this position Autofill from resume Save time by uploading your resume.
