Principal Product Management Engineer | Datacenter, Networking and AI | 14+ years, Bangalore

Designs, develops, and manages activities for a specific product or group of products or services from product definition and planning through production, release, and end of life. Serves as the central resource with design, process, manufacturing, test, quality, and marketing as the product(s) move to production and distribution. Involvement lasts throughout all stages of a product’s lifecycle including modifications, upgrades, and maintenance of the product or product line. Coordinates departmental or crossfunctional teams, focused on delivering new or upgrading existing products. What You'll do. Contributes substantially to the BU's technical strategy and business outcomes through influence on product strategy across a portfolio of products . Drives long-term business, customer, and technology impact, across portfolios within a BU . Serves as a leader of the Product Management community within and across Business Entity/Technology Group (BE/TG) Externally or internally focused thought leader with a broad or deep technology view . Shapes, builds, and promotes innovative solutions based on deep industry knowledge . Elevates and aligns the prioritization strategy through deep understanding of business impact of technology, risks, and potential trade-offs . Engages in and guides development discussion at own level and higher levels . Applies broad and fundamental knowledge of technology and latest technical industry and standardization trends . Educates internal teams and external customers on new products, breaking down highly complex technical concepts . May represent Cisco in high-value presentations, training, conferences, negotiations, and standards groups . Evangelizes product ideas throughout Cisco sales and marketing teams, across business units, and throughout the industry . Works with engineering teams and product marketing to address matters of technical solutions and/or requirements . Leads and influences product decisions in customer engagements; works with high-value, complex customers and partners . Drives connections across multiple business units to apply technologies across domains; serves as a business consultant and liaison to Sales, Engineering, and Product Marketing . Leads engagement and action planning on community engagement and networks/working groups across products and creates pathways for effective partner and open-source community interactions . Evangelizes products externally and serves as product(s) spokesperson . Works with staff-level management to problem solve through the product development cycle . Nurtures a strong relationship with leaders in Engineering, Sales, and Product Marketing . Helps engineers find ways to attack new or difficult problems . Serves as a role model, mentor, and sounding board for Product Managers across the BU .
