Collected role description

Job Purpose DB / Data Conversion Architect to lead the design and execution of the data migration and conversion strategy for legacy system to cloud-native multitenant SaaS platform. Job Description Expert in database architecture and data engineering, with deep expertise in SQL Server/Azure SQL (TSQL) and large-scale data migration/conversion projects. Design, architect, and implement robust ETL/ELT pipelines for converting legacy into cloud-native data model. Strong expertise in data mapping, source-to-target transformation logic, and reconciliation frameworks for multi-terabyte dealer datasets. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including application architects, business analysts, QA, and clients to define conversion scope and cutover plans. Hands-on experience designing and optimizing SQL Server stored procedures, indexes, and partitioning strategies for high-volume OLTP/OLAP workloads. Proficiency with ETL tooling such as SSIS, Azure Data Factory, or equivalent, along with scriptin(PowerShell/Python) for data validation and automation. Deep understanding of data quality, de-duplication, cleansing, and validation techniques for legacy-to-cloud migrations. Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure SQL, ADF) and hybrid on-prem-to-cloud migration patterns. Strong knowledge of data security, PII masking, and compliance considerations during migration, including encryption at rest/in transit and access controls. Experience defining rollback, dry-run, and phased/parallel-run cutover strategies to minimize downtime. Ability to build and maintain data lineage, mapping documentation, and audit trails for regulatory and client sign-off purposes. Strong debugging and performance-tuning skills, with experience resolving bottlenecks in large batch conversion jobs. Proficiency in writing unit/integration tests and validation scripts for data reconciliation (row counts, checksums, referential integrity). Experience with version-controlled database change management (Flyway, Liquibase, or equivalent) and CI/CD for database deployments. Experience presenting conversion readiness, risk, and cutover-plan status to client and internal delivery leadership. Job Specification Understand client requirements and translate them into a comprehensive data migration and conversion architecture. Ensure compliance with organizational guidelines by enforcing best practices in data modeling, ETL development, and code/data reviews. Lead and participate in the end-to-end conversion lifecycle: source analysis, mapping design transformation build, validation, mock runs, and go-live cutover. Collaborate with Product Management and application engineering teams to define technical requirements and align conversion timelines with release plans. Work closely with legacy system owners to define extraction logic and resolve data quality and structural gaps. Drive rigorous data validation and reconciliation practices, ensuring zero data loss and referential integrity across converted datasets. Provide technical leadership by mentoring data engineers, reviewing conversion scripts, and guiding best practices for scalable data pipelines. Troubleshoot and optimize conversion jobs for performance, ensuring migration windows meet business SLAs. Stay updated on modern data engineering and cloud data platform capabilities, introducing improvements to the conversion framework. Implement CI/CD pipelines and automated testing for database changes and conversion scripts. Act as a strategic advisor for data architecture, planning and supporting current and future dealer onboarding and migration waves. Make timely decisions in ambiguous data-quality situations, escalating risks without compromising conversion accuracy. Define and implement the overall data conversion strategy, shaping standards and reusable frameworks across rollouts. Utilize monitoring and logging tools to track conversion job health, identify failures, and optimize throughput. To adhere to ISMS policies and procedures
