Collected role description
The Coating Leader will support shift-based production Operations of Vaccum thin film coating systems The role requires strong understanding of coating processes, production tracking, data collection and analysis The role ensures high-quality coating output, process optimization, equipment efficiency, and team management to meet production and R&D requirements Lead daily operations of vacuum coating systems (PVD, CVD, sputtering, evaporation, etc.) Ensure adherence to production schedules and delivery timelines (OTD) Monitor coating parameters such as thickness, uniformity, adhesion, and optical performance Oversee operation and maintenance of vacuum coating machines and supporting systems Good understanding of vacuum technology and thin film coating processes Strong ability to collect, analyse and interpret production data Support development of new coating processes and materials, collaborate with design and R&D teams for trials and improvements Supervise and guide coating operators and technicians Provide training on coating processes, safety, and equipment handling Analyse defects and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) Key Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of vacuum coating technologies (PVD/CVD) Understanding of optics, materials science, and thin film behaviour Problem-solving and analytical skills Leadership and team management Knowledge of quality tools (SPC, RCA, 8D, etc.) Good communication and coordination skills Proficient in ERP systems for production tracking and reporting Proficient in MS office tools (Excel, word, Power point) Strong communication and reporting skills

B.Sc (Physics)/B.E/B.Tech
