Collected role description

Social Media Associate Hike Messenger & Hike Cinema Experience 1–3 years Role Senior Social Media Executive Reports To Social Media Manager Location Delhi NCR, India (on-site / hybrid) Employment Type Full-time About Hike Hike is the consumer technology company behind Hike Messenger, a privacy-first messaging app for group chats, calls, and everyday conversation, and Hike Cinema, our entertainment and movie companion app. Hike has spent over a decade building consumer products for the Indian market, and we're now growing a small, fast-moving social and content team across both apps. Role Summary We're looking for a Social Media Associate who lives on Instagram, X, and TikTok-style content and can turn a trending sound or format into a post for Hike Messenger or Hike Cinema within the hour. This is a junior, high-energy role for someone just starting out — you won't be expected to own strategy on day one, but you will be expected to have a genuinely good sense of what's funny, what's cringe, and what Gen Z will actually share. If you're the friend who sends memes in the group chat all day and somehow always finds the good ones first, this role is built for you. What You'll Do ● Monitor Instagram, X, and YouTube Shorts daily to spot trending memes, sounds, formats, and viral moments relevant to Hike Messenger and Hike Cinema. ● Create and execute daily memes, reels, static posts, captions, and comment replies using relatable, internet-native content. ● Quickly turn trends, pop-culture moments, movie releases, and viral content into same-day posts. ● Support shooting and editing short-form videos using phones and basic editing tools. ● Manage comments and DMs, responding quickly and engagingly while escalating important queries. ● Support influencer/creator collaborations and coordinate briefs, deliverables, and posting schedules. ● Track basic content performance metrics and share what’s working with the team. What We're Looking For ● 1–3 years of experience — fresh graduates and first-jobbers are welcome. What matters most is that you genuinely understand internet culture. ● Native-level understanding of meme formats, trending audio, and Gen Z humour — absurdist, self-deprecating, and in on the joke. ● Comfortable writing short, punchy, casual copy that sounds like a person, not a marketing team. ● Hands-on experience managing a personal page, college fest page, meme account, or campus/club social handles, even informally or unpaid. ● Basic experience with phone-first content creation and editing tools such as CapCut, InShot, Canva, or similar. ● Genuinely online — you know what's trending on Instagram and X without having to look it up. ● A genuine interest in movies, shows, and pop culture, especially for Hike Cinema content. ● Quick, reliable, and comfortable working at the speed of trends, including creating and publishing same-day content. ● Comp-scan: Regularly monitor competitors and relevant brands to track their content, formats, trends, and engagement, and identify opportunities for Hike to create better and more relevant content. Good to Have ● A personal meme page, fan account, or content page with real engagement you can show us. ● Any prior internship, freelance, or volunteer experience with a brand's or college's social media. ● Basic knowledge of Instagram/X analytics or scheduling tools — not required, but a plus. ● An eye for design — even informally, like making memes or edits for friends. What You'll Get ● A real shot at getting your content and ideas published for two live consumer apps from week one. ● Hands-on mentorship from the Social Media Manager — you'll learn strategy on the job, not just execution. ● A small, fast team where a good idea can go from group chat to live post the same day. ● A starting salary benchmarked fairly for an entry-level Delhi NCR consumer tech/startup role.
