Collected role description

Senior Analytics Manager Hike Messenger Experience 8–10 years Function Data & Analytics Reports To Head of Product Location Gurgaon, India (On-Site) Employment Type Full-Time About Hike Hike is the consumer technology company behind Hike Messenger, a privacy-first messaging app used by millions for group chats, calls, and everyday conversation. With a large, highly engaged user base generating data at real scale, we're building out a senior analytics function to turn that data into the decisions that shape the product. Job Summary We're looking for a Senior Analytics Manager to lead product and business analytics for Hike Messenger. This is a senior, largely independent role for someone with 8-10 years of experience who has done this before at a consumer app with real scale — someone who can own the analytics roadmap, run a small team, and be the person leadership turns to for a clear, data-backed point of view on what's working and what isn't. You'll work closely with product, growth, engineering, and leadership to define what to measure, build the systems to measure it, and turn that into decisions that move the needle on engagement, retention, and growth. Key Responsibilities Analytics Strategy & Ownership • Own the analytics roadmap for Hike Messenger & Hike Cinema — define the core metrics that matter for engagement, retention, growth, and monetization, and make sure the org rallies around them. • Lead deep-dive analyses on user behavior, funnels, and cohorts to uncover why metrics move the way they do, not just that they moved. • Partner with product and growth leadership to shape roadmap decisions using data — sizing opportunities, evaluating trade-offs, and calling out risks early. • Own experimentation strategy — design, run, and interpret A/B tests and other experiments, and build the org's muscle for testing before shipping. • Build and maintain dashboards and self-serve reporting that give product, engineering, and leadership teams fast, reliable access to the metrics they need. • Support leadership with insights and data to build investor presentations and other internal and external reports. Data Infrastructure & Quality • Partner closely with data engineering to define event tracking, data pipelines, and data models that scale with a high-traffic consumer app. • Own data quality and consistency — be the check against metrics that quietly drift or get defined differently across teams. • Drive adoption of analytics and BI tooling (SQL-based warehousing, BI tools like Tableau and build experimentation platforms) across the org. Team Leadership • Build, lead, and mentor a small team of analysts — set the bar for analytical rigor, review their work, and help them grow. • Prioritize and triage requests across product, growth, marketing, and leadership so the team is working on what actually matters. • Represent the analytics function in leadership discussions and reviews, presenting findings and recommendations with clarity and conviction. Cross-Functional Collaboration • Work directly with product managers and engineers to embed analytics thinking early in the feature development process, not just at the reporting stage. • Partner with growth and marketing teams on campaign measurement, attribution, and ROI analysis. • Translate complex analysis into clear, actionable narratives for non-technical stakeholders, including founders and leadership. Required Qualifications • 8-10 years of experience in analytics, data science, or business intelligence roles, with a significant portion at a high-traffic consumer app or product-based technology company. • Strong hands-on proficiency in SQL and at least one statistical/scripting language (Python or R) for deeper analysis. • Proven experience designing and interpreting A/B tests and other experimentation frameworks and building tooling for the same. • Experience with BI and visualization tools (Looker, Tableau, Metabase, or similar) and modern data warehouses (BigQuery, Redshift, Snowflake, or similar). • A track record of translating ambiguous business questions into structured analyses and clear recommendations. • Experience managing or mentoring a team of analysts or data scientists. • Strong communication skills — comfortable presenting findings directly to product, growth, and leadership stakeholders. • Solid understanding of core consumer app metrics — DAU/MAU, retention curves, funnel conversion, engagement, and cohort analysis. Preferred Qualifications • Prior experience at a high-engagement consumer app. • Exposure to growth analytics — funnel optimization, lifecycle marketing measurement, and user segmentation. • Working knowledge of event-tracking frameworks (Amplitude, Mixpanel, Firebase, or similar). • Experience partnering with data engineering on pipeline design or data modeling, even without owning it directly. • Familiarity with basic machine learning concepts (churn prediction, propensity models) even if not building them hands-on. • Good to have - An advanced degree in a quantitative field (statistics, economics, computer science, engineering, or similar)
