Collected role description

As a Principal Engineer, you will be the technical authority for system integration across multiple wireless product releases and technology domains. You will define integration strategies, influence product architecture from an integration perspective, drive complex technical problem-solving, and provide leadership across engineering organizations. You will play a critical role in ensuring scalability, stability, interoperability, and deployment readiness of Wireless 4G/5G RAN solutions. Tejas wireless team has developed high-capacity LTE macro eNodeB, 5G NR gNodeB along with Radio Units as part of end-to-end integrated solution to their customers. Our systems are already deployed in customer’s commercial network and engineers are working on to enhance the capacity and improve system level performance. Tejas Networks has invested in Wireless product development since 2012 with a vision to create globally deployable telecom RAN solutions. Several of the key components developed by the Wireless R&D team have been installed and commissioned across three continents. We are an active partner for 5G in the Indian Ecosystem and have significantly contributed to India’s standardization efforts in 3GPP, through TSDSI. The wireless team has over 100 patents. As part of the wireless team, you will work on developing products for next generation wireless systems. Define integration architecture, validation strategy, and release qualification plans for feature and maintenance releases. Drive integration of FW, FPGA, L1, L2, L3, OAM, DU, and RU components to enable product verification and deployment readiness. Provide technical leadership for bring-up and validation of advanced LTE and NR features, including CA, MIMO, VoLTE, EN-DC, mobility, and performance enhancements. Lead cross-functional debugging and root cause analysis of complex system, interoperability, and performance issues. Drive resolution of system-level DL/UL timing, synchronization, scheduling, latency, and front-haul related issues. Collaborate with Architecture and Development teams to influence feature design, integration readiness, and product quality. Define SIT methodologies, automation strategies, quality metrics, and best practices across programs. Lead interoperability validation across DU, RU, CU, Core Network, UE, and multi-vendor O-RAN ecosystems. Support customer trials, field deployments, escalations, and critical issue management. Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance on wireless protocols, integration methodologies, and debugging techniques. Drive continuous improvement of integration processes, tools, automation frameworks, and development infrastructure. Mandatory Skills: Working in 4G/5G eNB/gNB product with strong involvement in integrating L1,L2,L3 & OAM components as a SIT feature/maintenance release . Strong experience in integrating and validating FW, FPGA, L1, L2, L3, OAM, DU, and RU components for feature and maintenance releases. Deep understanding of LTE/NR RAN architecture, protocol stack, call flows, mobility procedures, and performance optimization techniques. Proven expertise in end-to-end system integration, feature validation, and release qualification of eNB/gNB products. Strong knowledge of O-RAN architecture, FAPI interfaces, front-haul protocols, and DU-RU interoperability. Expert-level debugging skills using protocol analyzers, FAPI traces, Layer 1 logs, OTA captures, KPI analysis, and system traces. Strong expertise in debugging system-level DL/UL timing issues, synchronization, scheduling, HARQ processes, frame alignment, latency, and throughput optimization. Hands-on experience analyzing and resolving issues across DU, RU, UE, and Core Network interfaces. Strong Linux expertise with scripting and automation skills using Python and Shell. Excellent technical leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills. Desired Skills: Experience with UE simulators such as TM500, Keysight, or equivalent LTE/5G test platforms. Good understanding of LTE/5G Core Networks and end-to-end system validation. Experience with CI/CD, test automation, continuous validation, and large-scale integration environments. Exposure to cloud-native RAN, virtualization, and containerized deployments. Experience leading customer-facing programs, field trials, and multi-vendor interoperability activities. Experience: 15 to 18 yrs from Wireless Communications, LTE, and 5G NR product development, system integration, or verification. Education: B.Tech/BE (CSE/ECE) or any other equivalent degree
