Mission of the Role:lead UX designer owns an end-to-end user experience strategy across a product or product line. They bridge the gap between design execution and product strategy, often managing or mentoring designers on the team.Key responsibilities include Establishing clear project parameters, leading a small team, establishing UX approaches, Concept creation and development and ensuring high-quality, user-centered deliverables. Key contributor to roadmap planning, prioritization, interface standards, and stakeholder management.The range of products in scope are Web & In car Infotainment solutions. Key Objectives of this Role:<ul><li style="margin-bottom:11.25pt;line-height:normal;background-size:initial;">Design Strategy & Vision: Define design roadmaps, interaction frameworks, and user-centric design principles that align with business KPIs.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11.25pt;line-height:normal;background-size:initial;">Team Leadership & Mentorship: Mentor and supervise junior/mid-level designers, manage workloads, and review design outputs for quality.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11.25pt;line-height:normal;background-size:initial;">Research & Testing: Oversee user research, usability testing, and data analysis to identify pain points and validate design decisions.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11.25pt;line-height:normal;background-size:initial;">Wireframing & Prototyping: Build storyboards, user flows, wireframes, and clickable high-fidelity prototypes.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11.25pt;line-height:normal;background-size:initial;">Design Systems: Establish and scale UI style guides and component libraries to maintain brand and interface consistency.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11.25pt;line-height:normal;background-size:initial;">Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner closely with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to ensure seamless design handoff and implementation.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11.25pt;line-height:normal;background-size:initial;">Leading Agile sprint planning to align team capacity with project deliverables: Establish sprint capacity and define the sprint deliverables based on estimation.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11.25pt;line-height:normal;background-size:initial;">Effort estimation and planning deliverables.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11.25pt;line-height:normal;background-size:initial;">Creation of innovative interaction concepts to match future usages and expectations.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11.25pt;line-height:normal;background-size:initial;">Specification of complex interaction systems in alignment with HMI SW developers.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11.25pt;line-height:normal;background-size:initial;">Prominent level of independent communication with a multi-national and cross-functional design team.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11.25pt;line-height:normal;background-size:initial;">High affinity for recent technologies and willingness to apply these in the automotive context.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11.25pt;line-height:normal;background-size:initial;">Close collaboration with specialists and technical experts from product management and software engineering teams.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11.25pt;line-height:normal;background-size:initial;">Grow and maintain effective partnerships with customer User-experience Design group.</li></ul>Key Performance Indicators:<ul><li style="margin-bottom:11.25pt;line-height:normal;background-size:initial;">Quality of concepts and documentation.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11.25pt;line-height:normal;background-size:initial;">User satisfaction and Usability score.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11.25pt;line-height:normal;background-size:initial;">Committed deliveries on time.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11.25pt;line-height:normal;background-size:initial;">Scope clarification with Customer and clear conversion of the same as tangible requirements for internal stakeholders.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11.25pt;line-height:normal;background-size:initial;">Stakeholder satisfaction – Customer & Internal.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11.25pt;line-height:normal;background-size:initial;">Cross-team collaboration for effective outcome.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11.25pt;line-height:normal;background-size:initial;">Learnability for new tools and processes related to role.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11.25pt;line-height:normal;background-size:initial;">Mentoring of junior designers.</li></ul>Key Year One Deliverables:<ul><li style="margin-bottom:11.25pt;line-height:normal;background-size:initial;">UX Roadmap Development: Create and align a UX strategy roadmap with company objectives for the next 1–3 years.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11.25pt;line-height:normal;background-size:initial;">Design System Contribution: Establish or enhance a scalable design system to promote consistency and efficiency.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11.25pt;line-height:normal;background-size:initial;">Deliver Wireframes, Screen flows & interactive prototypes for assigned projects, validated by quick usability testing.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11.25pt;line-height:normal;background-size:initial;">Participation in all Customer meetings related to role and define the scope with action points.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11.25pt;line-height:normal;background-size:initial;">Mentor at least one Junior Designer.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11.25pt;line-height:normal;background-size:initial;">Adoption of Visteon JIRA - Agile project management toolchain for all the design activities.</li></ul>Qualification, Experience and Skills:<ul><li style="margin-bottom:11.25pt;line-height:normal;background-size:initial;">8+ years of minimum relevant Industry working experience with a heavy emphasis on complex web applications, responsive design for multiple form factors and digital products.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11.25pt;line-height:normal;background-size:initial;">Extensive hands-on expertise spanning UX, interaction, and visual design.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11.25pt;line-height:normal;background-size:initial;">Prior experience in the automotive industry is preferred.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11.25pt;line-height:normal;background-size:initial;">A solid grasp of user-centered design and testing methodologies of usability.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11.25pt;line-height:normal;background-size:initial;">Knowledge of application of various aspects of ergonomics related to role.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11.25pt;line-height:normal;background-size:initial;">Awareness about different ISO standards applicable for Vehicle Cockpit Interior design.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11.25pt;line-height:normal;background-size:initial;">Proficiency in Interface Design tools like Visio, Figma & Adobe XD is necessary.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11.25pt;line-height:normal;background-size:initial;">Proficiency in any of the Interactive Prototyping using tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, ProtoPie or similar is necessary.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11.25pt;line-height:normal;background-size:initial;">Basic knowledge of Microsoft office & 2D design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator is necessary.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11.25pt;line-height:normal;background-size:initial;">Experience creating motion graphics with Adobe After Effects is an advantage.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11.25pt;line-height:normal;background-size:initial;">Working Knowledge of JIRA - Agile project management is necessary.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11.25pt;line-height:normal;background-size:initial;">High affinity to automotive user Interfaces, processes, and coordination with a focus on constant improvement of workflow</li><li style="margin-bottom:11.25pt;line-height:normal;background-size:initial;">Stellar communication skills, including written, verbal, and listening skills.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11.25pt;line-height:normal;background-size:initial;">Active driving experience and a strong understanding of vehicle cabin ergonomics and controls are highly preferred.</li></ul>Education:Degree / Diploma in Product Design, Interaction Design, User Experience Design, Visual Design from reputed design institute is mandatory.
